With the help of T3, at least one teacher per schools is having the opportunity to obtain graduate hours with a focus of at least 18 hours in Instructional Technology. Several of the teachers have started at Lamar University (see Media for Janie's video). Due to the waiting period for our amendment, there has been concern that teachers will not have the time to complete the coursework during the remaining grant period. The grant amendment also includes "other institutions of higher education." With these combined factors, I am including information to other options below.
The Admission Requirements and Procedures are listed below:
General Admission Requirements:
1. Have earned a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours for unconditional admission
3. Post minimum scores on the Writeplacer Exam.
Applicants with less than a 3.0 may be granted conditional admission.
The Writeplacer Exam is given on campus at a small fee. The exam requires the applicant to write an essay in response to a prompt provided.
The application and credit agreement can be completed on line at the link above. The forms for the reference letters may also be accessed online.
Official transcripts should be sent to Judy Corbin in the Graduate Education Office judycorbin@lcu.edu (806 720 7876). She can also answer questions about the programs and application process.
Bill Kingston will be their advisor in this program and am also available to answer any questions. Contact him at graduate office number above or at 806 252 2923.
